BEFORE YOU ARRIVE

You have questions? We have answers!

Before You Come to Whispering Winds Kennel, Inc. there are some things you should know!

We want your pet to enjoy every bit of their stay with us, therefore we have addressed some of the often-asked questions.

My dog has never been boarded, is that okay?

Yes, we service many first-time boarders and find that the pets that stay with us do very well as a new boarder and quickly adjust to the happy atmosphere

Our recommendation is to board your pets regularly. They will get to know the boarding experience as part of a familiar and enjoyable experience. With each visit to Whispering Winds Kennel, your pet will get excited as you turn into our driveway.

What do I need to bring?

Current vaccination records; (bring them along or send them ahead via email to wwk@dls.net).

Food; bring your pets food along or use ours. If you do provide their food, please bring it in a resealable bag or airtight container.

Favorite toy, treats, or blanket are welcome. To maintain sanitary conditions, any blankets or toys must be in sanitary condition.

Will I get those items back?

We don’t recommend that you send anything sentimental because if the item becomes unsanitary or beyond repair, we will dispose of it. We cannot guarantee you will get it back and would not want you and your pet to be disappointed.

What if my pet will need to take medication during their stay?

We administer medications that are pre-dosed and will be easily taken in their food. Bring a pill pocket or something our staff can wrap it in (i.e. bread, cheese or peanut butter). For safety reasons, staff are not allowed to place medications into a pet’s mouth or give any kind of injections.

My dog doesn’t like other dogs, is that ok?

Yes, Here at Whispering Winds Kennel Inc. we can provide privacy runs both indoor and outdoor for the dogs that need that. Otherwise, our indoor area has solid panel walls and the outdoor areas are separated by chain-link fence between runs with a view of other dogs.

Safety for our staff is a top priority. If your pet is skittish while staying with us, we are able to provide Standard Daily Care. We will not try to provide additional services that required hands on contact. Usually after a few days with us, they do warm up, and we can give additional requested services.

What vaccinations are needed to board at your pet resort?

We follow the State required vaccinations; Rabies and Distemper.

Bordetella is also recommended.

If I choose not to bring my own food what do you provide?

We use a premium dry kibble that the pets really enjoy. We do recommend bringing your pet’s food to keep them on a consistent diet. If you bring their food, please place it in a resealable bag or container.

WE DO NOT ACCEPT DOGS WITH ANY HISTORY OF AGGRESSIVE BEHAVIOR.
